2024 lessons

2024 taught me a couple of lessons I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life:
- Don’t you fucking dare apologize for being yourself
- Your dream is your dream, not anyone else’s
- The alarms you ignore at the beginning will be the reason something comes crumbling down in the end
- People pleasing is the number one way to disrespect your own boundaries and goals
- You’ve come too far in developing who you are to settle for anything less than what you WANT (you deserve what you want)
- No amount of comfort is worth staying somewhere you don’t belong
- It’s okay to be sad about things you’d hoped would go differently, and pieces you thought you’d healed from
- Resist and Persist
- Get out of your own way
- You’re a super heavy weight bodybuilder, carry yourself like one
But the most important lesson I learnt:
- Everything you need to succeed, to be happy, to achieve your dreams, you have within you and you are capable of doing it all alone, by yourself, on your own terms.
- BUT - you don’t have to, and you shouldn’t.
- You should reach out to those around you.
- You should lean on others when you need to.
- You should be surrounded by people with the same goals and ambitions as you.
- You MUST remember, the people in your circle are there to support you, to carry you, to help you along the way.
2024 taught me that the people around you are fundamental in creating a life you desire and while they aren’t necessary to basic survival, they’re necessary in helping you see just how loved, appreciated and cared for you really are.
That while you CAN do things alone, you don’t ever need to.
The overwhelming feeling 2024 has brought me, is that while I might be alone at the end of every day, I am never truly alone for a second because I’m surrounded by some pretty incredible people I get to call MY people.
